This group is centred around beginners and improvers, but more experienced players are catered for as well.  Our aim is to show that chess is not the preserve of intellectual university professors – anyone can enjoy it.  It is a good exercise for keeping your mind active and alert.  There are only 8 moves to learn which takes about 10 minutes.  Then players are mentored – at their own relaxed pace – to build on this and become better players.  A lot of IT technology is used to help you develop. We meet every Tuesday at Rhydymwyn Visitors Centre, between 14:00 – 16:00.  There is no attendance fee, but if you offer us an empty cup, we will return it filled with coffee or tea for the grand sum of £1.
